Last Tuesday was Stu's dad's birthday and we were invited to his birthday dinner at 7 Glaciers, a fancy restaurant on top of Alyeska. We decided it would be best not to take Mollie to such a fancy restaurant, and my parents volunteered to watch her. So we left her with several bottles, hoped she wouldn't be too much trouble, and headed on the long drive down to Girdwood. It was wierd not to have Mollie, and reminded me of before Stu and I were parents, but it was nice have a little time as just the two of us. When we got to Alyeska we took the tram up the mountain to the restaurant which was pretty sweet. Here's a view of the hotel from the tram. It got even smaller as we went up higher...
The restaurant was really nice and the food was amazing! Most of us got the mesquite grilled beef tenderloin with asparagus topped with bernaise sauce and rosemary pine nut brie risotto. Stu's dad got the same thing but with elk instead of beef! We all got different desserts which were all set up really fancy on the plate. Here are Stu's cheesecake and my creme brulee...
After we ate we were able to go outside before we caught the tram back down...
We were happy to find out that Mollie did really good while we were gone. I wonder if it reminded my mom of taking care of twins...
I wonder if Marie's parents would be willing to let me have her. I know that you won't give Mollie to me but I sure would like to have Marie. She is so darling!
