Peter Pan & Polka Dots

Here is my first entry for Spring Top Week! It's actually the most recent one I've made, but the only one I have a picture of me in it so far. I was inspired by the “Lettuce Florets Blouse” from Anthropologie and decided to recreate it by combining and altering several patterns that I have. I used BurdaStyle’s Jocelyn top pattern for the bodice, but made the front into two pieces so that it could button down the front. I also used Burda 7914 for the collar, armholes, and shoulder seams.
It may be "Spring" but it snowed yesterday!
Please excuse all the wrinkles!
The best part of this top is the homemade contrasting yellow/floral bias tape that I used for the armholes! It's a little more tedious to make your own bias tape (Even though it's really simple), but it looks really cool!
I decided to line the underside of the collar in the same fabric..

Both the main polka dot fabric and floral contrast are both light weight cottons from the $1.50/yard section at Walmart! The white fabric on the collar is a bottomweight from JoAnns.
