Hats and an Apron

In the last few weeks I've made 5 or 6 baby hats. Partly because I've been looking forward to the fall and winter, but also they are a quick sewing project that I can do while Mollie naps. Here is my favorite one. The outside is corduroy and the inside is jersey. I made the "ears" by just pinching the corners on the top and tying them with thread.
A lady from MOPS gave me a huge tub of fleece, so that is what I used for these next two hats. For both of them I used the hat pattern from "Simple Sewing for Baby" by Lotta Jansdotter. I blogged about it a long time ago here.
I absolutely LOVE this next hat. The fleece is microfleece, which is way nicer than regular fleece. I need to figure out where to buy some, anyone know? This is the first boyish thing that I've sewn and can't wait to give it to a baby boy that is due this year!
Lastly, here is an apron that I made last weekend for a girl from church who got married a few days ago. The pattern is from the book "The Perfect Apron".

  1. Very cute. I love the hats and the apron. Mollie is an adorable model.

What kind of sewing machine do you use? Do you like it? I'm thinking about trying to get a cheap one. Maybe a Kenmore?
